Costumes

We originally had the intention for our actors to bring multiple different sets of clothing, to make it look like time had passed. I.e. They would be wearing thick, layered clothing for 'winter' and during 'summer' the opposite. However, during filming, we found that it was hard to keep track of what season it was and what they were supposed to be wearing. Also, during editing, we felt that it might have been too sublte of a change, and not obvious to most people. Instead it might look like a continuity error. I used fades and timelapses to show a change in time to try and overcome this.

We asked Ben and Vicki to bring multiple sets of clothes to the shoot so we could select which ones for them to wear, depending on the time / season in the video. We used a Facebook group chat to keep everyone up to date and inform them of specifics.

Ben
Winter:

Ben's shoes and jeans stayed the same throughout the video, but this wasn't too much of a problem, since jeans tend to go with most outfits in any time of the year.

His black jacket was used for when it was the autumn / winter, along with his scarf.

Vicki
Winter:

Vicki's shoes and leggings remained unchanged in the video, but this also wasn't too much of a problem, since like with jeans, leggings tend to go with most outfits in any time of the year.

Her coat was used for when it was the colder months.

This is Ben in the 'summer.' He simply isn't wearing his coat and jumper, but that makes a big difference.

This is Vicki in the 'summer.' She also just took off her jumper and jacket, but this gives the impression that the weather is much nicer and not as cold as earlier in the video.

Finally, this is from an unused scene. We didn't use it for the reasons mentioned at the top of the page.
