Preliminary Task
At the end of last year, we spent the last few weeks practicing techniques we hadn't had the chance to or wanted to improve on. I chose to do green screening, however, instead of using an actual green screen, I used the sky. We filmed on a sunny day with few clouds meaning the sky was a similar colour, so could easily be keyed out.
What I came up with:
I also tried motion-tracking the video in order for the starry background to stay in position, to make it seem more like it was actually there. I also attempted this with the text that says "Max" I also included some twinkling stars, made with Trapcode Particular, and colour corrected the video to appear more blue and space-like.
Finally, I added some lens flare along with using slow motion. It was intentionally over the top and over done to make it stand out and for a comical effect, especially since the actor, Max is quite quiet. Having him wear big, reflective sunglasses and turning round in slow motion was done for a laugh, which he happily agreed on.
